John Greyson

John Greyson is a Toronto film/video artist whose works include Fig Trees, Covered, Zero Patience, Lilies, Un©ut, The Making of Monsters and Proteus, engaging such topics as AIDS activism, censorship, gay marriage, copyright and queer solidarity with Palestine. His films have won best film awards at festivals in Berlin, Toronto, Vancouver, Hamburg, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Johannesburg, and been presented at retrospectives in London, Toronto and Montreal. He has been awarded the Bell Canada Video Art Award, the City of Toronto Arts Award, and the Pride Culture Award, co-edited the anthology ‘Queer Looks', and is the author of ‘Urinal and Other Stories'.  He teaches film production at York University and makes occasional placards for Queers Against Israeli Apartheid.
