Thomas Morsch has been a junior professor of film studies at the Free University Berlin since 2009. Director of a research project on the topic of "The Television Series as Aesthetic Form" at the Collaborative Research Centre 626: Aesthetic Experience and the Dissolution of Artistic Limits. Author of "Medienästhetik des Films. Körperliche Erfahrung als Ästhetische Erfahrung im Kino" (Wilhelm Fink Verlag 2011). Along with television series, his current teaching and research foci are: experimental and avant-garde film, the aesthetics of contemporary cinema, childhood in film, film as a dispositiv of tourism. His forthcoming projects include editing a collection of essays entitled "Genre and Series" (February 2013, Fink) and co-authoring a book on the social diagnosis of contemporary American comedy (also 2013).
